Correlation and Path Coefficient Analysis of Grain Yield and Yield Related Traits in Maize (Zea mays L.)

During Rabi-2021, the present trial was carried out at field experimentation centre of Genetics and Plant Breeding, Naini Agricultural Institute, Sam Higginbottom University Agriculture, Technology Sciences, Allahabad to assess genetic association path coefficient analysis in thirty-one maize genotypes, including one check variety MAKKA SHUATA-3 for eighteen quantitative traits. Based on mean performance 31 varieties. Grain yield per plant highest case MAKKA-3 (111.60 gm), MGC-240 (85.33 GP (84.17 gm) genotypes. An Analysis Variance revealed significant differences grain its components all This indicated a high amount variability 100 weight cob records GCV PCV, as well heritability. In genotypic phenotypic correlation, 100-grain are highly significantly correlated with yield. And that weight, number rows cob, length, days 75% maturity, grains row, ear height. Phenotypic results showed height, direct effect indicates true relationship between these traits, selecting traits will improve yields.
